Pick Up The Pieces - For The Greensburg Tornado Victims
Story Behind Pick Up The Pieces
On May 4th the people of Greensburg
had their lives literally turned upside
down. That evening, an EF5 tornado
ripped its way through the town taking
out everything in its 1.7 mile path.
Several days after this tragedy
occured "Pick Up The Pieces" was
born. I, along with the whole country,
had been following the news coverage
of the Greensburg tornado and felt
that I needed to give something back
to the community that was all but wiped
of the map. This is my little way of
giving something back to citizens of
Greensburg. It may not be much, but
from my humble heart I give this song
to not only the people of Greensburg,
but also the other Kansas communities
that were rocked by howling winds and
heavy rain. To those of you who lost
loved ones in the storm, my heart goes
out to you. Hope is on the horizon and
so is the rebirth of a Kansas town.
